2011 Programme

Here is a programme I have put together for 2011. It feels a bit sparse. Having said that perhaps if we have fewer QT events, more people will turn up for them and we won't spread ourselves around too thinly. If anyone has any other ideas for events, I would be pleased to hear from you.

I have included a trip to Ireland.  7 boats made the trip in 2009 and we had a great time, albeit the weather was kind. The Irish were very hospitable, and the event was well worth it. 2011 brings a new (old) ferry service from Swansea to Cork which will make the driving portion of the trip much easier. It would be great to see as many boats as possible going to Kinsale.  An added extra is the IRC Irish Nationals the week before, but if you are going to do just one event, try and do the Sovereign's Cup to keep the numbers up for that event.

- Sat 16 and Sun 17 - Warsash QT Spring Championships

I haven't included the RORC Easter Regatta as this has been poorly attended in recent years, possibly because March/early April is too early to go sailing in this country.  However, the RORC are prepared to put on a class for us, so please can you indicate to me if you are interested in this event and I will add it in.

- Fri 13th - Sun 15th - Vice Admiral's Cup

- Sat 4th and Sun 5th - QT Training Weekend (ISC with coaching)
- Fri 17th to Sun 19th - Irish IRC Nationals, Crosshaven, Cork
- Wed 22nd to Sat 25th - Sovereign's Week, Kinsale, Ireland

and for those not able to get to Ireland:
- 25th - Round the Island Race

- Mon 11th to Wed 13th  Quarter Ton Cup, Cowes

(There is the IRC Champs starting on Friday 15th July to Sun 17th, but I don't know whether you are interested in this event so soon after the QTC.  If anyone is keen to make a week of classic Solent sailing, please let me know and I will add it to the calender)

- Sat 6th to Fri 12th - Cowes Week

- 2nd, 3rd and 4th - Brewin Dolphin Jersey Regatta (QT Class and free berthing)
- Sat 3rd and Sun 4th - RAF Battle of Britain Regatta
- Sat 17th - Nab Tower
- Sun 18th - Tiny Mitchell (which combines with Nab Tower to form Runaway Bus Trophy

I am open to comments, so please let me know.......
