Runaway Bus Trophy

Quarter tonners dominated both the Nab Tower Race and the Tiny Mitchell Trophy this weekend in Cowes which with a combined result has now formed the Runaway Bus Trophy kindly donated by Paul Kelsey. Saturday dawned with little wind and blue skies ad a big hole in the wind off Osbourne Bay. However a warm easterly soon filled and the fleet comprising of Farr 52's down to Folkboats set off.

Bullet dominated the day,but was led round the course by Odd Job sailed by Morty and his crew with Poldark on the bow. Behind was a battle between Runaway Bus and Espada and behind them another battle between Arbitrator and Ayanami.  Bullet 1st, Odd Job 2nd, Runaway Bus 3rd, Espada 4th overall. Pretty good going amongst this fleet!

Sunday was also fair with 10 knots and the Quarter Tonners started with the bigger boats and a booming fair tide beat across the start line. In this race, Espada led to the top mark but was soon overtaken by Odd Job downwind and that amazing downwind flyer Bullet.  Odd Job 1st, Bullit 2nd, Runaway Bus 3rd and Espada 4th.
